How to View and Delete Your Netflix Ratings

Introduction

Making sure that the ratings you’ve given to content on Netflix are accurate is important, as those ratings help drive Netflix’s recommendations for you. Thankfully, Netflix makes it possible to see and review content you’ve rated on the platform, and delete any ratings where you’ve changed your mind. After deleting a rating for a video, you can go back and give that video a different rating. The only downside is that you can only view and delete your Netflix ratings through the Netflix website. Examples of all instructions in the steps can be seen in the YouTube video below.

Reasons You May Want to View, and Potentially Delete, Your Netflix Ratings

1. Protect Privacy

If you value your privacy, you may want to remove your Netflix ratings. Keeping your viewing history private can help protect your personal information from being shared or accessed by others. You can easily view and delete your ratings through your account settings.

2. Changing Taste

Our preferences and tastes change as we grow and experience new things. If you no longer like a movie or show you once rated, deleting your rating reflects your current opinion. By removing outdated ratings, you ensure that Netflix’s recommendations accurately align with your current interests.

3. Accidental Ratings

Accidentally rating a movie or show can skew your profile and affect Netflix’s recommendations. Deleting accidental ratings helps maintain the accuracy of your viewing history and ensures that you only receive recommendations for content you actually enjoy.

4. Outdated Ratings

Over time, your opinion of a movie or show may change. Updating your ratings ensures that Netflix’s recommendations accurately reflect your current taste. Deleting outdated ratings also helps keep your profile organized and clutter-free.

5. Avoid Spoilers

If you don’t want others to know what you’ve watched, removing your ratings can help prevent spoilers. This way, your friends and family won’t be able to see what you’ve watched and potentially ruin the experience for you.

6. Cleaning Up Your Profile

Keeping your Netflix profile organized and clutter-free is important for a seamless viewing experience. Removing old and irrelevant ratings helps you keep your profile up-to-date and better tailored to your interests. By deleting outdated ratings, you can simplify your Netflix experience and make sure you only receive recommendations for content you’re interested in.
