Introduction
Google Chrome’s autofill feature makes it easy to sign into websites, populate your address, fill in your credit card information, and more. However, this may not be so great if you’re on a shared computer and don’t want other people to be able to easily get into your personal accounts or have access to use your credit card. Thankfully, Google makes it easy to disable the various parts of the autofill feature.

Reasons You May Want to Turn Off Autofill in Google Chrome
1. Security Concerns
Autofill can be convenient, but it can also put your sensitive information at risk. By storing credit card numbers and addresses, it creates a potential target for theft if your device is lost or hacked. Protect your identity and finances by turning off autofill and manually entering this information when necessary.
2. Inaccurate Information
Autofill can store outdated or incorrect information, leading to frustration and wasted time when filling out forms. Avoid these issues by double checking and updating the information stored in autofill, or turning it off altogether.
3. Privacy Concerns
Autofill collects data about your online activity and can share it with third parties without your consent. Keep your information private by turning off autofill or using a browser extension that gives you more control over your data.
4. Interference with Other Forms
Autofill can interfere with custom forms or cause unexpected behavior, especially on websites that are not optimized for it. To ensure seamless form filling, turn off autofill or use it selectively on trusted websites.
5. Preference for Manually Entering Information
Some users prefer to manually enter their information and may find autofill to be a nuisance. Respect your own preferences by turning off autofill or using it only when necessary.
