Introduction
Maybe someone in your family shared your HBO Max account information with someone you don’t want to use it. Or maybe you logged in with your HBO Max account on someone else’s device, and they’re using your account without your permission. Regardless of how it happened, other people using your HBO Max account can result in you not being able to watch shows on your own account. If you find yourself in this situation, one thing you can do is change your account password and sign out of HBO Max on all devices, forcing anyone using your HBO Max account without your permission to have to enter the new password. I’ll link to a separate video below that will show you how to change your HBO Max password. In this video, I’ll walk you through the steps to sign out of HBO Max on all devices.

Steps to Sign Out of HBO Max On All Devices
- First, you need to access the Manage Devices screen. On the HBOMax.com website you can do this by clicking your account name at the top of the screen, and then selecting “Manage Devices.”
In the HBO Max app on iPhone, iPad and Android devices you can do this by tapping the “Account” icon, then tapping the “Settings” icon that appears on the next screen to open the Settings menu, and then tapping “Manage Devices” in this menu.
The Manage Devices screen is displayed, showing a list of all of the devices you’ve accessed HBO Max on.
- Click “Sign Out” or tap the “X” next to an individual device if you just want to sign out of HBO Max on a specific device.
A screen appears asking if you’re sure you want to sign out of that device. Click “Sign Out” to sign out of that single device.
You’ll return to the Manage Devices screen where you’ll see a note that you signed out of that device. Alternatively, if you want to sign out of HBO Max across all of your devices, you just need to click “Sign All Devices Out.”
The Sign All Devices Out screen is displayed, informing you that you’ll be signed out of HBO Max on all devices, including this one, and that the process of signing you out on all devices may take up to four hours. Click “Sign Out.” You’ll automatically be bounced back to the HBO Max home screen where you’ll need to sign back in to your account to use the streaming service.
