Introduction
The PlayStation 5 DualSense controller gets between four to six hours of battery life on a full charge. While this is good, by default, the DualSense controller isn’t set to turn off automatically after a period of inactivity, so if you walk away and leave the controller on the battery life will be drained. Thankfully, if you don’t want to go through the headache of manually turning your PS5 DualSense controller off or on every time, you can set it to automatically turn off by itself after a period of inactivity.

Reasons to Set PS5 Controller to Auto Turn Off By Itself
1. Conserve Battery Life
Setting your PS5 DualSense controller to automatically turn off helps conserve battery life. This is especially important for frequent gamers who don’t want their controller to die in the middle of an intense gaming session. By turning off the controller when not in use, you can extend the battery life and ensure that you have enough power to play for hours on end.
2. Reduce Wear and Tear
Automatically turning off your PS5 DualSense controller helps reduce wear and tear on the buttons and other components. By turning off the controller when not in use, you can prevent accidental button presses that can cause unnecessary wear and tear. This will help extend the lifespan of your controller and keep it in good working order for years to come.
3. Accidental Button Presses
Accidental button presses can be frustrating, especially if they lead to in-game actions that you didn’t intend. By automatically turning off your PS5 DualSense Controller when not in use, you can prevent accidental activation and enjoy a smoother gaming experience.
