Introduction
Maybe you watched a show or movie on Netflix a long time ago and forgot the name of it. Or, maybe you want to see what other people who are using your Netflix account have been watching. No matter why you want to see the viewing history on your Netflix account, Netflix makes it easy to see that information through the Netflix website. The only caveat is that you can only view your Netflix watch history through the Netflix website, and you can’t use the Netflix app. If you need to see a more detailed viewing history with specific time information, click here to check out my video that will show you how to download all of your Netflix personal information. Examples of all instructions in the steps can be seen in the YouTube video below.

5 Reasons You May Want to See Your Netflix Viewing History
1. Keep Track of What You’ve Already Watched
Keeping track of the movies or TV shows one has already watched on Netflix can be quite useful. By reviewing their viewing history, a user can avoid re-watching something they have seen before, thus saving time. Furthermore, looking at their viewing history can help them remember what they have watched, which can be especially helpful for TV shows with multiple seasons. Users can easily scroll through their viewing history to see what they have already watched and determine whether they want to watch it again or move on to something new. It’s a simple yet effective way to ensure they’re not wasting their time watching something they have already seen.
2. Analyze Viewing Habits
Looking at their viewing history can help a user analyze their viewing habits and preferences. By reviewing the genres they tend to watch most frequently, which actors or directors they enjoy, and even the time of day they tend to watch, users can gain insights into what types of content they prefer. This can help them make more informed choices when selecting new shows or movies to watch. For instance, if a user finds they frequently watch action movies, they might try branching out and watching a romantic comedy or drama to expand their horizons. Analyzing their viewing habits can help users get more out of their Netflix subscription and make watching TV shows and movies more enjoyable.
3. Get Recommendations
Netflix’s algorithm uses a user’s viewing history to make personalized recommendations for what they might enjoy watching next. By checking their viewing history, a user can ensure that their recommendations are accurate and in line with their interests. They can find suggestions for similar shows or movies they have already enjoyed, which can make it easier to find new content to watch. For example, if a user has been watching a lot of crime dramas, Netflix might suggest another crime drama with a similar style or theme. It’s a simple way to discover new content and ensure that the shows or movies a user watches are relevant to their interests.
4. Manage Your Profile
If multiple people share a Netflix account, a user may want to keep track of their own viewing history to avoid confusion or disputes over who watched what. They can also use their viewing history to manage their profile and ensure that their viewing preferences are reflected in the account settings. By reviewing their viewing history, a user can make sure that their account settings are up-to-date and that their recommendations are tailored to their interests. For example, they can select their favorite genres or actors to ensure that they see relevant recommendations. It’s a simple yet effective way to ensure that each user has a personalized experience and can enjoy the content they love.
5. Privacy and Security
Checking their viewing history can help a user keep track of the content they have viewed and ensure that nobody else has accessed their account without their knowledge. If they see any activity that they do not recognize, it may indicate that their account has been compromised and prompt them to change their password or take other security measures. By monitoring their viewing history, users can protect their account and ensure that their personal information is secure. It’s a simple step that can help prevent unauthorized access to their account and keep their information safe.
