While using a complicated password to get into your PlayStation Network account can make it harder for people to break into, it can also make it more difficult to remember. If you forgot your PSN account password, don’t panic, Sony makes it relatively painless to reset your PlayStation Network password so you can get back to having fun on your console.

Steps to Reset Forgot PlayStation Network Password
- Open a web browser and navigate to PlayStation.com, and then click “Sign In” at the top of the screen. You’ll land on the Sony PlayStation Network account sign in screen.
- Click “Trouble Signing In.” The Trouble Signing In screen is displayed.
- Click “Reset Your Password.” The Reset Your Password window is shown.
- Enter the email address associated with your PlayStation Network account, and then click “Send Email.” A message letting you know that an email has been sent to that email address that will enable you to reset your PSN password is displayed.
- Open the email account associated with your Sony PSN account, and then find the email from Sony with a subject line that reads “Change Your Password.” Open that email, and then click the “Change Password” button inside of that email. A Verify Your Identity screen is shown.
- Click to open the drop-down menu, choose what method you want to use to verify your account, and then click “Continue.” In this example I’ll choose to use my cell phone.
- Enter the verification code you receive through your chosen method in the Verification Code field, and then click “Continue.” A Reset Your Password screen is shown.
- Enter what you want to be your new password in the two fields on the screen, and then click “OK.” You’ll see a confirmation that your Sony PlayStation Network account password has successfully been reset. Click “OK.”
Can I Reset My PlayStation Network Password Without My Email Address?
