Introduction
The preview of your picture that shows in the front-facing camera on your iPhone or iPad is actually a mirrored image, and the version of the image that gets saved on your device is a non-mirrored version. However, if you’d prefer to save the mirrored version of your selfies, Apple now makes it possible to do that. The only requirement is that you have iOS 14 installed on your iPhone, or iPadOS 14 installed on your iPad. Examples of all instructions in the steps can be seen in both the YouTube video above and the image collection located beneath the steps.
Steps to Change the Default Email App on iPhone or iPad
- Tap “Settings” on your iPhone or iPad home screen to open the Settings menu, and then tap “Camera” in the menu. The Camera screen is displayed.
- Scroll down to the Composition section, and then tap “Mirror Front Camera” to toggle it on. Going forward whenever you take a picture with the front facing selfie camera on your iPhone or iPad, the mirrored version of your photo that you see in the device’s viewfinder is what will be saved to your camera roll.
