Steps to Link Amazon Prime Account to Twitch Account
First let’s walk through the steps to link your Amazon Prime account to your Twitch account.
- Open a web browser, navigate to www.twitchprime.com, and then click “Sign In” to sign into your account if you’re not signed in already. You’ll land on a screen prompting you to sign in to your Amazon account.
- Enter the username and password associated with your Amazon account, and then click “Sign In.” You’ll be routed back to the Twitch Prime home screen where you’ll now see the name associated with your Amazon account in the top left corner of the screen.
- Click “Link Twitch Account” in the top left corner of the screen. An Amazon plus Twitch window is displayed in the center of your screen letting you know that linking your Amazon account to your Twitch account enables you to get free in-game loot, free games, and other perks such as chat privileges, emoticons, badges, and more.
- Click “Link Accounts.” A Prime Gaming screen is shown showing you the Twitch account and Amazon accounts that will be linked. Double-check these accounts to make sure they are correct before moving forward.
- Click “Confirm” after verifying that the Amazon account and Twitch account you’re linking are correct. You’ll be routed back to the Twitch Prime site, where you’ll now see your Twitch username included at the top of the screen as well, indicating your accounts have been successfully linked.
- Click “Activate Prime Gaming” in the top right corner of the screen.
Going forward, you can navigate back to www.twitchprime.com and click the “Game and Loot” tab on the left side of the screen to see what in-game loot and free games are available through Prime Gaming. You can see available in-game loot by clicking the “In-Game Loot and More” tab, and you can see free games by clicking “Games with Prime.”
Steps to Use Free Twitch Prime Sub
Now let’s look at how you can take advantage of the other perk that comes with linking your Amazon Prime account to your Twitch account, which is how to use your free Twitch Prime sub.
- Navigate to the channel page for the Twitch streamer you want to use your free Twitch Prime sub on.
- Click “Subscribe” on that channel page. A window giving you an overview of what you’ll get when you sub to that Twitch streamer is shown. In this example we can see Rob Unwraps is giving me a custom emote, some sub badges, channel points and more.
- Scroll down to the bottom of this window, and then click to shade in the box next to “Use Prime Sub.” You’ll see a note above the Subscribe button that this is a free one-month sub.
- Now click the “Subscribe with Prime” button. You’re now subscribed to this channel with your free Twitch Prime sub.
As a note, your free Twitch Prime sub won’t automatically renew on a monthly basis, and you’ll need to manually renew it. The good news is that you can use your free Twitch Prime sub to sub to any Twitch streamer.
Benefits of Linking Amazon Prime to Twitch to Get Prime Gaming
1. Free Monthly Games
Twitch Prime Gaming offers a range of free games to subscribers every month, providing an excellent opportunity to add new titles to your gaming library without spending a dime. These games come from a variety of genres and are often popular titles, making it a valuable perk for gamers. Whether you’re a fan of action, adventure, or strategy games, you’re bound to find something that appeals to you. Additionally, the games are yours to keep, so you can play them whenever you like, even if you cancel your Twitch Prime Gaming subscription.
2. Exclusive In-game Content
Another benefit of linking Amazon Prime to Twitch and signing up for Twitch Prime Gaming is the exclusive in-game content that you can access. From skins and outfits to emotes and gear, Twitch Prime Gaming members get access to a variety of content that’s not available to non-subscribers. This content can help you stand out in multiplayer games or add a new level of customization to your favorite single-player titles. Moreover, the exclusive content changes every month, so you can look forward to new and exciting additions to your favorite games regularly.
3. Ad-free Viewing
Twitch Prime Gaming members can enjoy ad-free viewing, which is a significant advantage when you’re watching your favorite streamers. Ads can interrupt the flow of a stream and detract from the overall experience, so having them removed can be a game-changer. With ad-free viewing, you can focus on the content and interact with the streamer without interruption. It’s also worth noting that you don’t need to use an ad-blocker, which can be unreliable and may negatively impact the streamer’s revenue.
4. Support Favorite Streamers
Twitch Prime Gaming members get a free monthly subscription, which they can use to support their favorite streamers. Subscribing to a channel unlocks additional perks, such as exclusive emotes, badges, and access to subscriber-only chat. Moreover, subscribing to a channel shows support for the streamer and can help them grow their audience and improve their content. It’s an excellent way to give back to the community and feel like you’re part of something bigger.
5. Access to Twitch Prime
Finally, linking Amazon Prime to Twitch gives you access to Twitch Prime, which is another set of benefits. These include free channel subscriptions, free loot for popular games, and access to exclusive content. Additionally, you can use Twitch Prime to connect with other gamers and access a variety of live events and shows. Twitch Prime is a valuable addition to Twitch Prime Gaming and offers additional benefits that enhance the overall experience.
