How to Create and Delete HBO Max User Profiles

Introduction

Creating different profiles within an HBO Max account makes it possible for multiple users of one account to each have their own space. You can have up to five profiles within one HBO Max account, and each profile has its own recommendations, watchlists, and more, making them great for families where everyone has their own viewing tastes. This video walks you through how to create and delete an HBO Max profile. Additionally, I’ll also show you how to create a kid’s profile. Examples of all instructions in the steps can be seen in the YouTube video below.

Steps to Create an Adult Profile on HBO Max

1. Access HBO Max on your preferred platform, and then tap either your name or the My Account icon to open a menu, and then choose “Switch Profiles” in the menu. The Who Is Watching? screen is displayed.
2. Tap “Add Adult.” The Create Profile screen is shown.
3. Enter a profile name, choose a profile color, and then tap “Save.” You’ll return to the Who Is Watching? screen, where you’ll now see your newly created profile as an option.

Steps to Create Kid’s Profile on HBO Max

1. Access HBO Max on your preferred platform, and then tap either your name or the My Account icon to open a menu, and then choose “Switch Profiles” in the menu. The Who Is Watching? screen is displayed.
2. Tap “Add Kid.” The Create a Pin screen is shown.
3. Enter a 4-digit PIN, and then click “Next.” The Create Profile screen is displayed.
4. Enter a profile name, birthdate information, choose a profile color, and then click “Next.” The Set Parental Controls screen is shown.
5. Click to set the maximum movie and TV ratings you want the kids profile to be able to access, and then choose whether or not you want users to have to enter the PIN when attempting to access a non-kids profile. Click “Save” after entering this information. You’ll return to the Who Is Watching? screen, where you’ll see a note that all kids profiles have a lock icon. If the profile has a closed lock, you’ll need to enter the PIN to switch to another profile. The kids account will now be displayed in your list of HBO Max profiles.

Steps to Delete HBO Max Profile

1. Access HBO Max on your preferred platform, and then tap either your name or the My Account icon to open a menu, and then choose “Switch Profiles” in the menu. The Who Is Watching? screen is displayed.
2. Tap “Manage Profiles.” A Delete button appears beneath all of your non-primary profiles.
3. Click “Delete” to delete any HBO Max accounts you created that you no longer need. A screen appears asking if you’re sure you want to delete this profile. Click “Delete” again. You’ll return to the Manage Profiles screen, and this account will be deleted. Repeat this process to delete any other HBO Max accounts you no longer need.
