Steps to Block Someone on TikTok
- Launch the TikTok app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
- Navigate to the profile of the individual on TikTok who you want to block, and then tap the ellipses at the top of this screen. A Send To menu will open at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap “Block.” A menu is shown asking if you want to block this user, letting you know that if you move forward with blocking them they will not be able to send you messages, or see your posts or your profile.
- Tap “Block.” You’ll be routed back to the profile for that TikTok user, where you’ll now see a blocked message at the top of the screen. Going forward this user will be blocked.
Reasons to Block Someone on TikTok
1. Harassment or Bullying
No one deserves to be targeted with negative or harmful behavior on TikTok. If you experience harassment or bullying, you have the right to block the user responsible. Take control of your safety and well-being by ending the interaction. Don’t hesitate to reach out to TikTok’s support team for further assistance.

Spamming is a major problem on social media platforms, and TikTok is no exception. Whether it’s an annoying flood of messages or irrelevant or offensive content, you have the power to block users who are spamming your feed.
3. Sharing Personal Information Without Consent
TikTok encourages users to maintain control of their personal information. If someone is sharing your personal information without your consent, it’s important to take immediate action by blocking that user. This helps prevent further damage to your privacy and security.
4. Violating Community Guidelines
TikTok has a set of community guidelines in place to ensure that everyone can enjoy a safe and enjoyable experience. If a user is violating these guidelines, it’s appropriate to block them. This includes any content or behavior that is harmful, abusive, or inappropriate.

TikTok takes the security and privacy of its users seriously. If you suspect someone is engaging in malicious activity, such as hacking, it’s important to report the behavior and block the user.
7. Repeatedly Sending Unwanted Messages
Sometimes, a user may send you repeated messages even after you’ve asked them to stop. This can be frustrating, but you can take control by blocking the user.
8. Impersonating Someone Else
Impersonation is not only a violation of TikTok’s community guidelines, but it can also cause serious harm. If you encounter someone pretending to be someone else, report the behavior and block the user immediately.
9. Posting Graphic or Disturbing Content
TikTok is meant to be a positive and enjoyable platform, not a place for graphic or disturbing content. If you come across any videos or comments that are inappropriate or offensive, block the user responsible and report the behavior.
